Comford food. Not in line for best looking, but delisous. Also nice, its quite easy to make, and doesn't give you bad feeling afterwards.

Ingredients
400 grams red split lentils
910 ml water
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds
3 bay leafs
1 cup smal chopped onion
2 carlic cloves chopped
2.5 cups tomatoes, finley chopped
1.5 tbsp ginger, grated
1 tsp turmeric
2 chilli, whole
2 chilli, finley chopes
2 tbsp fenugreek leaves
1 tsp garam masala
fresh coriander
bread or rice on the side
Preparation
Becouse the lentils overcook quite quick, we start with making the masala, if this is fisnihed we prepere the lentils and heat up the masala again. Feel free to do both on same time.
Wash the lentils until the water is clear, takes at least 3 times washing. Chop al the ingriedients that need to be chopped.
Take a big pan and add the ghee, turn on medium-heat. pinch some holes in the whole chille with a knife. Fry the chilles and bay leaf in the ghee, a little bit later add the cumin seeds, don't burn them. Take the chillis out and set asside. Add the onion and garlic and fry until slightly browned, add the chopped chilles stir for a minut. Turn on medium-low heat and add the tomatoes, ginger, fenugreek. Cook everything cook down for around 15 minutes, turn off or on low heat after cooked in.
In mean time put water with salt in a pan, add washed lentils. Bring it to a boil. Remove inbetween the foaming part (how cleaner you washed the lentils, the less foam). Cook with lid for 10 miutes on a medium-low head. Squeez a lentil between your fingers to see if they are ready, overcooking can happen fast. If they area squeezable they are ready
Turn the flame of the masalla on medium heat, add first a bit of lentil, mix this wel and add the rest of the lentils. Mix everything wel, if lentils are to hard, add bit of boiling water, otherwise heat it up for 5 minutes while stirring. Indeen needed add some salt. As finishing touch add the garam masala, coriander. Put fried chillies aside for extra spice.
